Self-esteem

A person with high self-esteem perceives as better, more capable and of greater worth than those  with low self-esteem. They also can interpret a success in a variety of ways while the others tends to over-generalize the implications of a failure. Self-esteem is focused on a global indication of self-evaluation and the subdivide aspects of their self. Global self-esteem can be conceptualized as the combination of the relative number and relative intensity of these positive and negative self-evaluations. A different approach to assessing self-esteem is to compare a person’s self-concept with his conception of an ideal self. The lowest self-esteem perceive their desirable characteristics to be quite common and their undesirable characteristics to be relatively rare.
